The problem with cell phone jammers are they may block or decoy important telecommunication. It is like blocking noise where some noise is irritating and some noise is vital for life. Often cell phone jammers block emergency radios and other types of wireless communication. What if the cell phone jammer blocked an emergency call causing a person to die because the ambulance did not get the call? What if a person could not call 911 when a car accident happens?

While blocking annoying cell phone ringing at times may seem important it is not worth blocking emergencies radios or interfering with other types of critical communication.

Cell Phone Jammers Are Illegal in the United States
Jammers are illegal in the United States. There are severe penalties for using these devices including a fine of $11,000 and/or a year in jail. While the FCC has not charged anyone for using jammers, they could do so in the future. United States is one of the largest markets for cell phone jammers. Who buys these? Restaurants, schools, universities, and other places have bought cell phone jammers. The FCC believes the cell phone jammers should stay illegal and users should face fines.

What Will the Future of the Cell Phone Jammers Be?
More than likely cell phone jammers will not be legal for quite a while because many companies use these devices for more than talking. The FCC states it certainly does not believe that cell phone jammers should be legalized.
