An Analysis of African Americans, the Republican Radicals and the Reconstruction
This paper will reveal the political climate after the Civil War called the Reconstruction Movement. By analyzing the Radical Party of Lincoln, as well as that of grass roots political movements of blacks in the South, we can surely see how African Americans were allowed to finally particpate as freedmen in their government. This study argues for the validity of the Reconstruction Movement, and why it was important in placing educated blacks in positions of legal power.
