The authors contend that Jews in the United States feel less attachment to Israel than their parents and grandparents did, are participating in traditional Jewish organizations less than ever before, and are focused more on their own families and careers. Ultimately, Eisen and Cohen found that old communal loyalties and established norms no longer shape Jewish identity as they did several decades ago.
