This paper will investigate the current a politics and cultural issues that surround recent allowances of a casino on Navajo lands. President Joe Shirley of the Navajo Nation has recently, against age-old traditions, allowed a casino on the reservation. By this act, we can learn why political trends are changing, offering better living conditions for the Navajo Nation.
