Justinian and the Second Council of Constantinople / Romans, Greeks, Barbarians and a Linguistic Assimilation
This is two short papers in one. The first two page paper involves a major contribution of Justinian to the Eastern Roman Empire and the Catholic Church. Specifically, the paper discusses Justinian and the Second Council of Constantinople and how his actions there changed the relationship between the church and the empire and altered the future of Catholicism. The second short paper suggests that differences in notions of civilization and barbarity and the perception of religious experience are based largely on linguistic differences.
