Twenty- first Century Stress- related Linguistic Choices and Constructive Emendations for the American Vernacular.
This paper explores the concept of stress- related linguistic choices in respect to language use. In order to better direct the discussion, the example of elderly patients and language use shall be used: Linguistics are finding strong correlations between the use of positive, non- stress- producing language on elderly patients in care facilities, indicating that the impact of positive language on an individual can be empowering. Through addressing the impact of positive- language on the elderly, it can be inferred that producing and maintaining non- stress- related language has a beneficial impact on the recipients as it does not create conditions of self- efficiency expectations. This paper also works to address why new words and word choices are essential to the future of a positive and socially- conducive environment. 40-pages, bibliography lists 30 sources.
