Impression, Sunrise-The Beginning of a New Era in Art.
This eight-page paper discusses Monet's "Impression: Sunrise" and its relationship to the Impressionist movement. During his earlier years, Monet moved his work away from the studio and concentrated on scenes out of doors. Monet learned to study the light and the shadows and was noted for capturing a scene at critical moments of lighting. His approach was perfected over the years by first sketching his scene in pencil and then quickly, using his unique short strokes, fill the painting with colors from his own impressions of the scene. 8 pgs.
