This paper will first briefly cover structural adjustments in terms of meanings, aims, problems, and context, positive and negative results. This paper will then look at India and focus upon the visions of development and the realities of the structural adjustments made by P.M. Rao" namely, his economic reforms which opened India to the international market. These reforms, carried out by Finance Minister M.
