Book Review: Confessions of a Mask by Yukio Mishima.
This review looks at the thought process of the narrator. The narrator is unable to deal forthrightly and directly with any situation: instead he creates justifications and excuses to hide his emotions. Simple, honest urges, even something as basic as sexuality, are overintellectualised and entombed in dark cathedrals of thought and perverse fantasy. 4 pgs. 12 f/c. 1b.
