This paper answers two questions regarding employee compensation. The first is a scenario in which a smaller, 100-employee company has been experiencing high turnover in some of their key positions. One position, in particular, does not have an external market comparison available. The challenge is how to develop a compensation package that is appropriate, reduces turnover, and increases company profitability.
The second question focuses on Maslow's Need Hierarchy. The basic concept of Maslow's theory is discussed, and then it is shown how it can be implemented into an organization's compensation package to effectively motivate employees.
