Historical and Contemporary Theories of Management.
This paper gives a detailed account of historically important theories of management, and compares them to popular contemporary theories. The basic conclusion is that classical scientific theories must form the basis of the modern manager's hierarchy of concerns, where more political considerations (e.g. human-resources management) are only addressed after the physical and psychological work environment is optimized. 7 pgs.
