This paper is written about databases. A database is simply organized data. A database contains tables, which are basically descriptions of types of data. (Barry, 1999) Tables in turn contain records, which is the actual data. By using a common identifier between tables it is possible to "relate" one table to another. A relational database can be seen as the data handling part of another application. Electronic databases are a quick and efficient means of finding material. Most electronic databases have similar features and functions, although the method of performing these functions varies from databases to database. The common functions are the same in most cases. In the simplest databases, every record is complete in a single row.
