The word length effect is a phenomenon that involves a human being's capacity to recall short words better than long words. Words that take less time to pronounce, therefore, are more easily remembered. There are two well-developed explanations of the word length effect. These are Baddeley's working memory model (WMM) and Nairne's feature model.
