This paper shall examine the Americans with Disabilities Act as it relates to the workplace, taking into account recent interpretations of the law regarding the definition of “disability” under the Act. First, the background of the ADA is discussed. Second, several pertinent ADA related court cases are discussed. Third, a hypothetical workplace scenario is given and discussed. Finally, recommendations for managers are provided so that they can ensure compliance with the ADA in the workplace.
