Parental Involvement in Education: An Analysis of Support
This three page postgraduate essay examines the issue of parental support of education. The author notes that poor grades and failure in school are often repeated from generation to generation because successive parents weren’t supported or encouraged by their parents when they were in school, so they don’t support or encourage their own children, who in turn neglect their children’s educational needs when they become parents. Subsequently, apathy towards education needlessly becomes a family inheritance that tragically produces a downward cycle of futility and underachievement.
