This four-page undergraduate paper examines social problems that communities face and discusses how individuals can play a role in the community when a community is challenged by such problems. The author notes that, unfortunately, the decision making processes at the local, state, and federal levels are all too often affected by political and economic realities and political hypocrisy. Political leaders, agency personnel, and much of the general public just pay lip service to resolving the social problems that plague us, and don’t care much if any progress is made unless they are the ones being victimized.
