This paper shall discuss and examine the education systems in Sweden and in New Zealand on the K-12 level. The paper will provide an overview of the existing educational system in both countries in order to familiarize readers with the subject at hand. Additionally, this study will discuss some of the major governmental initiatives and reforms that are shaping the future of education in both countries. Of specific interest to this paper will be the issue of school vouchers in both nations.
