The Paris Revolution of 1968: A Historical Analysis
This seven-page undergraduate paper examines the Paris Revolution of 1968. The author notes that it nearly toppled the government of Charles de Gaulle. Even though it only lasted one brief and eventful month, it had a lasting legacy, for students everywhere were inspired by the events in Paris to proclaim their own grievances and join activist groups to protest their government’s economic, education, and political policies. The revolution was caused in part by prevailing French student attitudes that they were being educated for a society that was rejecting political idealism for materialism in the form of mindless consumer consumption.
