This paper will analyze the fashion in the Victorian period within the film Pride and Prejudice (1940) by Jane Austen. By learning the real fashion that was part of the Victorian era, we can see how costume designer Giles Steele does not hold true historicity in her clothes, but makes subtle changes to fit the 40's era film making process.
