This paper examines the role that the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has played in the last decade between Canada, the United States, and Mexico. It discusses the many shortcomings of the agreement, ultimately arguing that the agreement is not effective as a fix for the problems of globalization because it suffers from several structural defects and a lack of political will.
