This papers describes the ways Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Hyde has a father/son relationship between Jekyll and Hyde as one of its primary themes. This paper shows the series of metaphors Stevenson uses to create the resemblance of a paternal relationship between Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
