This paper addresses works of English satire from the Eighteenth century. Works of satire that were produced during this period are often characterized by a strong historical perspective that have somehow affected the situation. This paper therefore is composed in two parts: The first part briefly describes the historical background of each essay on satire read during class, and the second part of this paper then describes and defines the issue of Belinda from the work, "The Rape of the Lock" by Alexander Pope. 4 pgs.
