This paper disucsses divine command theory and why it is not a plausible theory, given that it requires acceptance of one specific belief system in order to justify moral decisions, and that even if that belief system is accepted and one recognizes God, this does not mean that God intervenes so directly, for it is more plausible that God created the world with certain moral principles which are then independent of God's commands, an idea more in keeping with the reality of the world and with certain other issues raised with reference to God and His power.
