The Window and the Prism: Eastern Philosophy, Reincarnation and the Contradiction of Western Rationalism.
This paper describes the Buddhist belief in reincarnation, and argues that Western philosophy is unequipped to evaluate the viability of reincarnation. Using a metaphor of a window and a prism, this essay suggests that Eastern philosophy and Western philosophy are two distinctly separate approaches for understanding knowledge, truth, and existence. Reincarnation is thus a particular Eastern belief that exceeds Western rationalism. 5 pgs, bibliography lists 2 sources.
