When one sets out to discuss ethical decision making in politics, one must brace oneself for an immediate chuckle or scoff by whoever may be on the receiving end of such ideological ideas. However, this essay will take a look at the nature of power itself and in particular how it is so closely related to that of influence and see that ethical decisions might be drawn forth from the politically responsible. After noting several instances of influence, power and their involvement with ethical decision making, one can see that there can be just as much power at the bottom of the food chain and that the same techniques for ethical decision making might be equally as viable at the top of the food chain.
