The Impact of Punishment and Positive Reinforcement on my Behavior.
This first person narrative examines the relative value of punishment over positive reinforcement in trying to bring change. It is written from the perspective of a person trying to lose weight and accomplish associated goals. It lists the response to punishment and to rewards and concludes that positive reinforcement is more effective. For every behavior that someone wants to change there is a method to change that behavior. Some people believe that punishment is going to effectively change behaviors and others believe that a positive or negative reinforcement are the way to go. My personal experience, however, tells me that punishment does not go very far to changing my behavior a positive reinforcement gets things done much better.
