The Role of a Counselor in the Private Practice Setting
This paper shall discuss the primary differences between private practice counsellors and institutional counsellors. The research for this brief examination will illustrate that the differences between the two are not based on situations encountered or on educational or training backgrounds required. Instead, the primary difference between the two is the lack of political and legal infrastructure for the private practice counsellor that the institutional counsellor is able to use to deal with legal and political requirements.
