This paper discusses the use of databases, which have traditionally been used to track individual records, but today's computers can handle data of a much different type which is not easily converted into traditional relational database formats. This research examines traditional approaches to database management and how users and vendors are meeting the new needs of today's computer users with new technology offering new solutions to questions about content and database management for a variety of uses.
