This paper considers the nature of consumer decisions and motivations behind them, suggesting that different members of the family influence such decisions at different stages in the life cycle, and that gender identity has something to do with how these decisions are made, also suggesting the use of the Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) for gathering data on gender identity and relating it to consumer behavior.
